COMMUNITY UMPIRING PROGRAMME

Christchurch Metro Cricket are excited to be part of a NZ Cricket Community Umpiring Pilot aimed at improving the skills, knowledge and confidence of players who are required to self-umpire games.

The pilot will be jointly delivered by New Zealand Cricket, the Canterbury Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association and the CMCA.  It shall involve a series of pre-season workshops, a mid-season question and answer session and a post-season review.

Session dates to choose from are:

Tuesday 19 September (6-8pm) - Merivale Papanui Cricket Club

Wednesday 20 September (6-8pm) - East Shirley Cricket Club

Wednesday 27 September (6-8pm) - Sydenham Cricket Club **(Women/Girls Only)**

Tuesday 3 October (6-8pm) - Old Boys Collegians Cricket Club

Wednesday 4 October (6-8pm) - Sydenham Cricket Club

As an incentive for those who attend, each team who sends a minimum of two representatives, will start the season with one competition point.  That point shall go towards the two-day competition in Men’s Championship, Division One and Division Two and limited overs formats in other grades.  As OEM Audio Men’s Premiership and EV Power Premier Women are usually allocated umpires, they are excluded from the bonus point offer but still welcome to attend the sessions.
