New Online Umpiring, Scoring and Coaching Modules
New Zealand Cricket have created an online course around the laws of cricket, specifically aimed at the grassroots levels or parent level and as a coach, you can now also complete parts of the Foundation and Advanced Foundation Courses online.
- Umpiring Module:
The new starter umpires module is complete and available. This is designed to give mums and dads a very basic level of knowledge to give them confidence in managing junior cricket games.

There is then a further link within this page which takes you to the landing page where you can log in to take the module.

Volunteer Opportunity for U19 Cricket World Cup
Early next year, New Zealand will be hosting 16 international cricket teams from across the globe for the ICC Under19 Cricket World Cup 2018 (ICC U19 CWC 2018). With 48 matches being played across four host cities (Whangarei, Tauranga, Christchurch and Queenstown) from 13 January – 3 February 2018, we are calling for volunteers to assist with the delivery of the tournament.
CMCA To Take over Quad series teams
The Christchurch Metro Cricket Association is pleased to advise that we will be assuming responsibility for the two Christchurch Metro teams (Red and Black) in the Canterbury Cricket Association Quad Series, played on four Sunday’s during October.
This season the competition will commence on October 1 and finish on October 22 and the other two teams involved will be Canterbury Country and the Canterbury Cricket Senior Performance Squad.
Selections will be carried out in conjunction with the CCA, who will advise on certain players of interest and which contracted players are available on a week to week basis, with performances in Club Cricket also being taken into consideration.
Keryn Ambler and Adam Hastilow have been appointed as the coaches.
