The structure of women and girls cricket in the wider Christchurch region is changing. The changes will allow for a stronger competition, reduce the effect of major jumps in grades for young players, and encourage youth engagement against their peers. To do this we need your support.
Canterbury Cricket Association (CCA) and Christchurch Metro Cricket Association (CMCA) are working together on this project and are taking registrations of interest for four Zone Coordinators to help support, facilitate and supervise this new structure. The wider Christchurch region has been split into four zones. The intent of this is to improve the framework and structure of women’s cricket and better utilise our existing player pool. Each zone will provide a premier side. Players outside of the premier grade will represent their club as per normal, but have the ability to be released to another club within their zone without restriction to create more competition at the Division 1, youth and social grades.
