The Christchurch Metro Senior A rep team travelled to Ashburton Domain on a warm sunny day to take on Mid Canterbury.

On arrival the pitch looked flat but very dry. The toss was won and Metro decided to bat first.

Most of the batsmen made good starts to their innings. A good platform was made at 3-145 after 28 overs. but failed to capitalize falling away to be all out for 222 in the 45th over. Stewart Van Zanten (43) and James Carr (45) top scoring.

In reply Mid Canterbury made a cautious start. with Tom Gooday (6-3-15-1) and Nathan Columbus (9-3-24-1)bowling very tight lines. Change bowlers Jonny Percasky (6.2-1-9-2) and Ben Cochrane (7-0-51-2) maintained the pressure. Wickets would fall regularly with Dan Vann (7-2-28-3) and Henry Winchester (7-1-23-1) sealing the deal with Mid Canterbury dismissed for 154 in the 43rd over.
