The culmination of the One-day competitions for Metro’s top grades takes place on Sunday 13 December with Club Finals Day.  In a departure from recent seasons where all games were played at a centralised venue such as Hagley Oval and Burnside Oval, this season’s matches are being played at the home venue of the higher qualifier.

In the Premier match, history repeats with St Albans meeting Lancaster Park Woolston at Garrick Park. While St Albans were top qualifier, their lack of a home ground means they are playing away at the rebuilt Garrick Park.

Last season St Albans made no race of the final with a comprehensive win but Park look to be made of sterner stuff this season, especially if they are at full strength with their Canterbury boys back (if the Kings fail to make the final of the National Georgie Pie Super Smash on Sunday).

Central to Park’s success will be Michael Davidson, Brent Findlay, Keryn Ambler and Dean van Deventer while Saints will be looking to base their game around James O’Gorman, Greg Dawson, Ben Langrope and Matt Holstein.

Merivale Papanui will meet Sumner at St Leonard’s Square in the Senior A final with the sea-siders sweeping all before them to date. Tom Gooday, Dan Vann and Jonny Percasky should be to the fore while Merivale Papanui will be relying on James Carr, Henry Winchester and Ben Mayo to achieve victory.

Others finals include Riccarton hosting St Albans at Upper Riccarton Domain at 2A level and perennial finalists, Hornby, hosting Heathcote at Denton Park in the 2B Grade.
