The game on the Sunday 8/3/2015 was played at Aorangi Oval in Timaru, in pleasant conditions. There was a 15 min delay with the pitch having some moisture under the covers encouraging the umpires allowing a 11.15 start.

The toss was won by James Carr and he decided to ask South Canterbury to bat. 

The opening bowlers Tom Gooday and Nathan Colombus both bowled with control and were rewarded with 3 and 2 wickets. South Canterbury were reduced to 6/45 after opening spell, then followed up by Joe Taylor with 3/30 to have them 9/95 until a couple of cameos from A Beck 56 and A Mcduff 20* the final total was 134 in 31 overs.

A batting plan was discussed the team went out  to chase the score. The openers got Christchurch Metro through to 24 before we lost our first wicket Matt Mcclintock.  Wickets then fell at 33 then 41 and with Stu Van Zanten on 26 he then went with the total on 43, we lost the next at wicket 58.


James Carr was then joined by Henry Winchester who added 76 for the 6th wicket to see us through to the 135 required in the 43 over, Carr 45* and Winchester 30*.

Christchurch Metro Cricket retained the Stokes/Blanchard Trophy.
